A stem-cell-culture serum brushed or pressed into freshly needled or lasered skin: calmer recovery and a modest glow, with thin evidence and loose regulation.

In Seoul, exosome boosters costs a median of ₩199,000 (about $144) across 6 clinic listings this week, ranging from ₩170,000 to ₩363,000.
Seoul prices are event listings on Gangnam Unni's Korean app, VAT included. Many are first-visit or trial deals, clinics can show foreigners different prices, and the tourist VAT refund ended in 2025. How Korean clinic prices work →

3 sessions × ₩199,000, lasting about 2 months. Trials only followed people 6–12 weeks after the last of 3 sessions, so nobody has measured how long the effect lasts beyond that.
Uses this week's Seoul median and the typical duration from studies. Other treatments use their midpoint duration and usual first course.
The exosome adds no marks of its own, but the microneedling it's paired with leaves redness that usually fades within a few days, so plan on 1–3 visible days.
A faint grid of pinpoint marks and a pink flush. These come from the microneedling or laser it's paired with, not from the exosome itself.

Day 1 or 2 of your trip, together with the microneedling, Potenza or laser session it's paired with, so redness has settled before later photos.
At least 1–2 full days after a gentle microneedling session; follow the longer rule of the laser if you pair it with something stronger.
One session can calm post-procedure redness. The trials that showed skin-quality gains used 3 sessions 3 weeks apart, so either plan a 6-week stay or treat it as an occasional add-on, not a course.
Clinics bundle it with Potenza, microneedling or fractional lasers because it only works well once the skin has been opened. Check whether the bundle price includes both the procedure and the full 5cc.
The exosome itself leaves no wound, so the season rule is really the paired procedure's: autumn and winter are easiest for needled or lasered skin, summer is workable with strict sun care.
This week's median across 6 Seoul clinic listings is about ₩199,000 for 5cc, with a range of ₩170,000–₩363,000. Check the cc: some cheaper listings are 2.5cc, half the dose. In the US, an exosome add-on typically runs US$300–800.
Not as a drug anywhere we checked. In Korea they are sold as cosmetics, in Australia ASCE+ is supplied as a cosmetic for professional topical use, and the FDA says no exosome product is FDA-approved.
There's early evidence of a modest benefit. Small randomised split-face trials found better elasticity and hydration than microneedling alone, and less redness after CO2 laser. The trials were small, short and used the maker's product.
We'd say no. The common products are made for use on the skin, and Korean doctors have reported granulomas, nodules and scarring after cosmetic exosomes were injected.
Exosomes need open skin to get in, so they're applied right after needling or laser. They're also a high-margin add-on: a US pricing guide puts a vial at about US$140 to the clinic against US$300–800 charged.
No. The redness and pinpoint marks come from the microneedling or laser. With gentle microneedling they usually fade within a day or two; stronger lasers take longer.
Possibly, but the evidence is thin: small, mostly uncontrolled studies show gains in hair density. PRP is better supported as a hair add-on for now.
| Exosome (e.g. ASCE+) | Rejuran (PN) | PRP | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Vesicles from stem-cell culture media (human or plant) | Polynucleotides from salmon DNA | Your own blood platelets, concentrated |
| How it's given | On the skin after microneedling or laser | Many small injections | Injected, or applied after microneedling |
| Regulation | Cosmetic in Korea; none FDA-approved | Not FDA-approved in the US | Your own blood, prepared at the clinic |
| Downtime of its own | None; the paired procedure sets it | About 1–3 days of bumps | Depends on how it's given |
| Evidence | Small, often maker-supplied trials | Small studies, low to moderate quality | Stronger for hair loss than exosomes |

Exosomes are nano-sized vesicles that cells release to carry proteins, lipids and RNA to other cells. Products like ASCE+ collect them from the liquid that stem cells were grown in, then freeze-dry them. The theory is that these signals calm inflammation and push fibroblasts to make more collagen.
The best-known trials use ExoCoBio's human fat-stem-cell product. In a randomised split-face study of 28 people, 3 sessions of microneedling plus exosomes beat microneedling plus saline: elasticity rose 11.3% vs falling 3.3%, and wrinkle, hydration and pigment scores also improved more. In a double-blind split-face trial of 25 Koreans with acne scars, exosome gel after fractional CO2 laser gave 32.5% vs 19.9% scar improvement, milder redness, and downtime of 4.1 vs 4.3 days. Both used ExoCoBio's product, and in the laser trial the maker supplied it.
A 2026 meta-analysis of 39 human studies reported average improvements of about 20% in wrinkles and 24% in hair density, but warned that products and protocols are not standardised. A 2025 systematic review rated only about a quarter of studies at low risk of bias, and follow-up rarely went beyond 12 weeks.
Hair claims rest on small, mostly uncontrolled studies, such as a 39-patient analysis where density rose from about 122 to 147 hairs per cm². Reviews of hair-transplant add-ons still rank PRP as better supported.
Regulation is the weak point. In Korea, the MFDS commissioner told the National Assembly in 2022 that exosomes are sold as cosmetics and only checked for banned ingredients, not manufacturing. The FDA says no exosome product is approved and warned in 2019 after serious adverse events in patients given unapproved exosome products. Korean dermatologists have reported granulomas and lasting scars after cosmetic exosomes were injected into the skin.
Human vs plant: ASCE+ SRLV uses human fat-stem-cell exosomes, while ExoCoBio and others also make rose stem-cell exosomes, registered as a US cosmetic ingredient name. Plant exosomes have even less human trial data, mostly case reports.
