Korea's classic hyaluronic acid skin booster: many tiny injections for dewy, hydrated skin, at a fraction of Western prices.

In Seoul, water-glow injections costs a median of ₩81,750 (about $59) across 9 clinic listings this week, ranging from ₩59,900 to ₩220,000.
Seoul prices are event listings on Gangnam Unni's Korean app, VAT included. Many are first-visit or trial deals, clinics can show foreigners different prices, and the tourist VAT refund ended in 2025. How Korean clinic prices work →

3 sessions × ₩81,750, lasting about 5 months. Seoul clinics quote about 3–4 months per product, and in the SkinVive trial the effect held for most responders to 6 months, after a course of 2–3 sessions.
Uses this week's Seoul median and the typical duration from studies. Other treatments use their midpoint duration and usual first course.
Bumps mostly flatten within a day, but in the SkinVive trial redness and bumps most often lasted 1–3 days, and over half of people logged some bruising.

Day 1 or 2 of your trip, so the bumps are gone and the glow is showing by the end.
At least 2 full days for the bumps. Leave about a week before an important event in case of bruising.
One session gives a visible hydration boost within days. The usual course is 2–3 sessions 3–4 weeks apart, so on one trip treat it as a single top-up, or finish the course at home with Restylane Vital or SkinVive.
Seoul clinics often pair it with skin Botox, exosomes, Rejuran or a lifting treatment. Pairing is fine, but ask for a separate price for each item.
Water-glow works in any month, but its injection bumps and 2–3 day no-heat rule are easiest to respect from October to March, when Seoul's UV is low and the dry indoor air makes a hydration booster most welcome.
This week's median across 9 Seoul clinic listings is about ₩81,750 for one syringe of about 2–3cc, with a range of ₩59,900–₩220,000. Clinics' listed regular prices run around ₩128,000. In the US a two-syringe SkinVive treatment typically costs US$650–900.
Hyaluronic acid boosters are a standard, high-volume menu item in Seoul, and many clinics run as high-volume “factory” clinics with standardised procedures. Cheap base prices also bring you in for add-ons. One Gangnam clinic's English page quotes several times this week's median, so compare prices before you book.
Same idea, different products. SkinVive (US) and Restylane Vital (UK, Europe) are HA skin boosters with published data; SkinVive is FDA-approved. Seoul clinics often use Korean HA boosters such as Hyalier or LiliiD M, which have far less published research. Ask which one you're getting.
Both work. In a small 2026 study, results and pain were similar by hand and with a multi-needle injector. Hand injection gave some small bruises that faded within 5 days.
Only if you want what they do, and priced separately. Skin Botox is aimed at oily skin and pores. Exosomes have no FDA-approved product and little solid evidence. Bundles make it hard to know what you paid for.
About 3–6 months. Clinics usually suggest 2–3 sessions 3–4 weeks apart to start, then a top-up every 4–6 months.
In the SkinVive trial, people with skin types V and VI were enrolled, including a separate safety group, and improved at rates similar to lighter skin types.

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule the skin already makes, and it binds water. Water-glow places tiny droplets of lightly crosslinked or non-crosslinked HA into the upper skin layer (the dermis). The aim is skin quality, not volume, and because the gel is only lightly crosslinked the body breaks it down within months.
The best evidence comes from SkinVive by Juvéderm. In its FDA trial, 209 adults (median age 58) were randomised to treatment or no treatment and rated by blinded evaluators. At 1 month, 58% of treated people had smoother cheeks by at least one grade vs 4.5% of untreated people, and about 56% still did at 6 months. Hydration readings rose too. Allergan sponsored the trial, and 8 of 26 investigators had financial arrangements with it.
Wider evidence is weaker. A 2023 systematic review found 15 studies of injected HA for skin quality, only one of them randomised, most with a moderate risk of bias. All reported better hydration and elasticity, typically after 3 sessions 4 weeks apart. We found no comparable trials for the Korean brands themselves.
Hand or gun? In a small 2026 comparison of 15 patients, hand injection and a multi-needle injector gave similar results at 12 weeks and similar pain (4.6 vs 4.5 out of 10). Small bruises followed the hand injections and faded within 5 days. A blunt cannula hurt least (2.2/10), but few Seoul menus offer it.
What often gets bundled in is not the same thing. Skin Botox (microtoxin) puts tiny doses of toxin into the skin to reduce oil and pore size. Exosomes are sold as a regeneration add-on, but the FDA says no exosome product is approved. Rejuran (PN) and Juvelook (PDLLA) work on repair and collagen rather than water.
