Two RF handpieces in one session: Mini FX for fat under the chin and along the jaw, Forma for gentle skin heating. Cheap, quick, and built for a course.

Seoul prices are event listings on Gangnam Unni's Korean app, VAT included. Many are first-visit or trial deals, clinics can show foreigners different prices, and the tourist VAT refund ended in 2025. How Korean clinic prices work →
4 of the 12 listings shown are promotions (first visit, trial price or once per person). A repeat or regular booking usually costs more. How Korean clinic prices work →

3 sessions × ₩108,900, lasting about 9 months. Korean clinics say one session lasts about 6 months and a course of 3–5 sessions 3–4 weeks apart about 10–12 months; there's no long-term study.
Uses this week's Seoul median and the typical duration from studies. Other treatments use their midpoint duration and usual first course.
Usually warmth and redness for a few hours. The Mini FX suction can bruise, and Korean clinics say bruises clear in about 3–7 days.
Skin feels warm and looks evenly pink, sometimes a little puffy where the suction cup worked.

Any day, but not the day before a big photo event, in case the suction leaves a bruise.
There's no wound and clinics say normal activities resume straight away. Allow 3–7 days if a bruise would matter.
One session gives a small effect. Korean clinics plan about 3 sessions 3–4 weeks apart, so a single trip gets you one, maybe two. Treat it as a taster, or finish the course at home (Forma is widely available abroad).
Often sold with Shurink in the same visit: InMode for fat and skin, HIFU for deeper tightening. Also easy to pair with a skin booster.
InMode leaves no wound, so season matters less than for lasers. The main compromise is keeping a week without saunas, hard workouts and alcohol, which is hardest in Seoul's July–August heat.
Mini FX ("FX") uses suction, RF heat and high-voltage pulses aimed at the fat layer, so it's for a double chin, jowls and lower-cheek fullness. Forma is gentle RF heating of the skin itself, for firmness. Many Seoul clinics do both in one session.
This week's median across 31 Seoul clinic listings is about ₩108,900 per session, with a range of ₩34,100–₩429,000; clinics' own listed regular prices run around ₩126,000. Listings mix FX-only and FX + Forma, and are priced by minutes, so compare minutes per handpiece, not just the total.
Menus list 5, 8 or 10 minutes of FX, or "1 area". Korean guides suggest about 5 minutes for one area and 10 minutes or more for the full face, and one Seoul clinic plans about 30 minutes when combining FX and Forma. Work out the price per minute of each handpiece to compare quotes.
It can if FX is overdone on a face with little fat. Korean clinics warn that thin faces risk hollow cheeks and a tired look, and suggest a Forma-centred plan instead. Tell the doctor if your face is already slim.
InMode works on fat and the dermis, is sold by the minute and needs a course. Shurink (HIFU) focuses ultrasound down to the SMAS for lift in one session. Thermage and Oligio (monopolar RF) tighten the dermis in one session. Clinics often pair InMode with Shurink: InMode for fullness, HIFU for lift.
The Forma and Mini FX handpieces are FDA-cleared, but for relief of muscle aches, muscle spasm, local circulation and (Mini FX only) the temporary look of cellulite. Facial fat reduction and lifting aren't among the cleared uses.

InMode is a platform company, so "InMode" on a Seoul menu can mean different handpieces. In facial "InMode lifting" it almost always means Mini FX (often just "FX") and Forma. Fractora is a different InMode applicator with pins that resurfaces the skin.
Mini FX sucks a fold of skin and fat into its cup, heats it with bipolar RF and adds short high-voltage pulses. InMode's body version, BodyFX, cut abdominal fat thickness by about 40% at 3 months in a 20-woman study, but we found no peer-reviewed study of Mini FX on the face.
Forma heats the dermis to a target of up to 43°C and holds it there, which makes collagen contract and triggers new collagen. In a 4-person split-face study before facelift surgery, treated skin had about 8% more collagen and 35% higher collagen synthesis.
In a 14-woman case series with 4–6 weekly Forma sessions, blinded doctors rated everyone improved: 3 significantly, 7 moderately, 4 mildly, with no pain or side effects. Both studies are listed on InMode's own clinical papers page. An independent study at Thailand's Institute of Dermatology (22 patients, 4 sessions 2 weeks apart) found less under-chin laxity and fat volume up to 6 months, with brief redness in almost everyone.
On paper the FDA clearances are narrow: Forma for muscle aches, spasm and circulation; Mini FX for the same plus the temporary look of cellulite. InMode's WMface applicator is the one cleared for mild-to-moderate facial wrinkles. How HIFU (Shurink, Ultherapy) and monopolar RF (Thermage, Oligio) compare with InMode for the same face hasn't been tested head to head.
